Each HMC user can be a member of one of six different roles. Each of
these roles
allows the user to access different parts of the HMC. The user roles
specified by the
HMC are as follows:
System Administrator
The System Administrator acts as the root user, or manager of the HMC
system. The System Administrator has unrestricted authority to access
and
modify most of the HMC system.
Advanced Operator
An Advanced Operator can perform some partition or system configuration
and
has access to some user-management functions.
Service Representative
A Service Representative is an employee who is at your location to
install or
repair the system.
Operator
An Operator is responsible for daily system operation.
User Administrator
A User Administrator can perform user-management tasks, but cannot
perform
any other HMC functions.
Viewer
A Viewer can view HMC information, but cannot change any configuration
information.
